The people of Botlokwa give Sanral a green light to proceed with the upgrading of N1 road

The Department of Roads and Transport in Limpopo wishes to confirm that there was an Imbizo (Public Participation) at Botlokwa on 5 December 2013 wherein the people of Molemole and all other relevant stakeholders gave Sanral a green light to proceed with the upgrading of the N1 road which has been marred by delays for the past years.

This finally closes the chapter as to the type of the road upgrading model which Sanral should implement, the people of Botlokwa and other affected villages further gave Sanral a go ahead to start with project without further delays. As the department we are pleased that all stakeholders have been duly consulted and all agreed that Sanral should proceed with the project as early as yesterday, we further hope that Sanral will finalise its drawings and have the project kick starting by the first quarter of next year 2014.

"We thank the people of Molemole for the courage, openness and unity they demonstrated during the public participation which was heavy attended and none of the participant presented a descending view about the N1 road upgrade." said Masoga
