Parts of Khumalo Street to be closed for State of the Province Address

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality wishes to inform motorists who travel on Khumalo Street in Thokoza of the road closure planned for Friday, 27 June.

The road closure is due to the highly anticipated opening of the Gauteng Legislature by Premier David Makhura. On the day, the Premier will deliver his maiden State of the Province Address at the Thokoza Auditorium.

Due to the nature of the event, which includes a parade and the Premier’s guard of honour, there is a necessity that parts of Khumalo Street be closed.

The road closures for the day are as follows:

Thokoza Auditorium

Khumalo Street, between Nlovuyanga and Masondo Streets. The closure will be affected at 07h00. The alternative route will be from Khumalo Street into Ndlovuyanga Street into Buthelezi Street and then into Masondo Street, leading back into Khumalo Street.

Sam Ntuli Stadium

Khumalo Street, between Ramonotsi and Mabuya Streets. The closure will be affected at 07h00. The alternative route will be from Khumalo Street into Ramonotsi Street, into Moepshe Street, into Mabuya Street and the back into Khumalo Street.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department will deploy officers to all road closures in order to redirect traffic.
