North West to close youth month on high note

Thousands of young people are expected to attend the North West Provincial youth month celebration and closing event to be held at the Greater Taung Stadium on Saturday.

Busses for youth expected to attend the event scheduled to commence at 10h00 am are coordinated by respective municipalities. Hip-Hop musician Tuks is among artists featured to entertain the youth.

Among achievements to be celebrated is the Job Placement Programme that will offer about 200 youth from the province international exposure while they earn about R20 000.The programme three initiative launched last week by Ubuntu Institute in partnership with Office of North West Premier Mme Thandi Modise Premier is funded to the tune of R46 million by the Development Bank’s Jobs Fund.

The National Youth Development Agency and Premier Youth Support had mobilised volunteers for participation in the Proud to Serve Youth campaign that embarked on cleaning campaigns in different municipalities across the province during youth month.

The campaign included construction of 36 houses in Ditsobotla, Tswaing, Maquassi Hills, Moses Kotane and Greater Taung local municipalities.
