NYDA wishes matric class of 2018 best of luck
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) wishes the Matric Class of 2018 the best of luck during the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations. As per the Department of Basic Education (DBE), tomorrow 15 October 2018, learners will sit for the first practical examinations in Computer Examinations Technology (CAT) and on Tuesday, 16 October 2018 write a practical examination for Information Technology.
We are confident that learners are well prepared for the 2018 NSC examination as it gets off to a full start on Monday, 22 October 2018. This based on the number of learners that visited our offices across the country to apply for the National Student Finical Aid Scheme (NSFAS). The two-year-old partnership with NSFAS seeks to ensure that academically deserving and qualifying students get the opportunity to further their studies.
The Executive Chairperson of the NYDA, Mr Sifiso Mtsweni says,
“Creating best conditions for learners to study is everyone’s business. Thus communities must play a meaningful role during this examination season by ensuring that voicing their demands does not affect the future of our learners”.
“This period present learners with a challenging yet exciting few weeks. Learners across all provinces must enter with a right frame of mind and clear-cut strategy, which will mark a difference between average and an exceptional performance. Opening doors to achieve their dreams”.
Nearly 800 000 candidates will fly the country’s flag high during the examination period and take advantage of the opportunity to reap the benefits of the twelve years journey of hard work and sacrifice. We take this opportunity to urge students to take advantage of this period of their lives.
The NYDA established the Solomon Mahlangu Scholarship Fund to cover studies in various fields of study, relating to critical and scarce skills. To date, the scholarship has benefitted and produced over 100 graduates in various fields of study.
“We cannot express the joy in our hearts in anticipation of yet another cohort of learners that will benefit from the Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu Scholarship Fund opening at the end of October. To all learners’ good luck, work hard and keep focus,” said Mtsweni
