The National Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocate Menzi Simelane received complaints from the attorneys representing Mr Jackie Selebi and from the South African Revenue Service (SARS) which relate to allegations of irregularities against certain National Prosecution Authority (NPA) officials.
The complaints, which were respectively received on 30 August 2010 and 2 September 2010 will be forwarded to the Directorate of Priority Crimes Investigations (DPCI) for further investigations. The NPA will give full co-operation with the law enforcement agencies that will be investigating these allegations.
However there will be an internal investigation into these allegations by the NPA.
