Minister Lulu Xingwana congratulates matric class of 2013

Minister Xingwana urges class of 2013 to contribute towards building an equitable society

The Minister of the Department of Women, Children and People with Disabilities, Lulu Xingwana, has joined South Africa in congratulating the 2013 matriculants for surpassing expectations as well as Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga on her department’s delivery of a record matric pass.

“I would like to urge the class of 2013 to build on this milestone to curve a better future for themselves. This is not the end of the road but the beginning of a journey as you transit to adulthood and become citizens who will contribute meaningfully to the building of a better South Africa where all human beings are equal and treated with respect and dignity as enshrined in the Bill of Rights,” stated Xingwana.

The more improvement in the number of scholars seating for matric exam and the higher the pass rate, gives us confidence that we will in the near future be able to totally eradicate child and gender-base violence as education is the key solution to addressing this problem.
