Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande, MP is in Angola to sign Higher Education and Training Agreement with Angolan Counterpart Minister.
Minister Nzimande is on a ministerial visit to Angola to meet his counterpart Minister of Higher Education, HE Adoao Gaspar Ferreira do Nascimento. The Two Ministers have signed an important Agreement on Higher Education and Training.
The overall objective of the Agreement is the development of cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of education, more specifically on higher education. The parties shall cooperate by enhancing technical support on the basis of mutual interest in the agreed areas including, but not limited to, to quality assurances, evaluation and accreditation of courses, teacher education and training.
This Agreement will also include soliciting third parties for funding of scholarships, e-learning, capacity building in Education Management System (EMIS), and higher education planning. Promotion of direct cooperation and partnerships in our institutions of higher learning such as in the research work, publications, exchange of educational information and expertise will be pursued.
A joint Technical Committee consisting of three (3) Officials from each Party shall be established consistent with the Agreement to monitor the implementation of its elements based on the plan of action flowing from the Agreement. Such a Committee will meet once a year alternating between the two Countries for the next three (3) years.

Our both countries shares rich history during our liberation struggle. Angola became home to many of our leaders and cadres from the now ruling ANC and its Alliance. Our relations was cemented during this difficult time and it is with greatest pleasure that both governments continue to cooperate on important areas like education to uplift our people” said Minister Nzimande.
