Minister Baloyi applauds SITA board over suspension of executives

The board of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) has yesterday suspended two former acting chief executive officers as well as a general manager on allegations of irregularities in tender processes and colluding with suppliers.

The suspension of the senior executives is effective immediately and will be pending investigations and further information will be communicated on the findings.

The Minister for Public Service and Administration, Richard Baloyi as the shareholder has emphasised that government remains committed to rooting out corruption at the agency and will ensure that no stone is left unturned in meeting this resolve.

Considering that the matter is still under investigation, the ministry will not be able to divulge further detail in the nature of these allegations.

In commending the board for a job well done, the minister urges the board to expedite disciplinary processes in order to ensure credibility to the intervention.
