A message of condolences from Nono Maloyi, the Honourable Speaker of The North West Provincial Legislature (NWPL), to the National Education and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) at the funeral of Cde. Mckenzie Motsamai

A titan of the struggle of the working class is no more. The giant has fallen. A heart of the African Lion who fearlessly championed the people’s struggles and trade union movement beats no more. Cde Motsamai McKenzie is well known to us, because of his humility and undying love for our people. He loved life and he lived it to the fullest.

Cde Motsamai McKenzie a soldier who died in the line of duty. His duty was nothing, but, service to the people of whom he loved so much. His commitment and selflessness to the work of NEHAWU is a demonstration to this.

Cadres like Cde. Motsamai McKenzie are very few. He was known in the ranks of the Mass Democratic Movement (MDM) as Prof. All of us called him Prof. We are deeply touched by his passing on. We mourn his untimely death.

To the leadership of NEHAWU and COSATU, the broader leadership of the ANC and MDM structures, the family, the wife and children, as well as friends, please, accept our heartfelt condolences from the North West Provincial Legislature.

Cde. Motsamai Buti “Prof” McKenzie:

  • Born in struggle
  • Baptised in the fires of revolution
  • Died in struggle
  • Let us emulate his example.

Farewell Patriot!!!
