Message of condolence to families of members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF)

The Premier of the province of KwaZulu-Natal, Dr Zweli Mkhize, has expressed his condolences to the families of three members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) who passed away following the crash of their helicopter into the Woodstock Dam near Bergville on Tuesday, 12 May 2009.

“The news of the passing away of these three members of the SANDF left in us, as the government of KwaZulu-Natal, a profound feeling of sorrow. We join their families, colleagues and friends who mourn their untimely death. They were a perfect example of patriotic South Africans and they will be sincerely missed. I call upon all public servants to honour their memory by continuing to display commitment and hard work which these late members were known for. May their departed souls rest in peace,” said Dr Mkhize.
