Media statement

During challenging moments as evidenced by the current situation, the Department of Health and Social Development in Limpopo, continues to strive to bring the public on board regarding the provision of our services.

As a Department, we would like to re-emphasise our sense of gratitude to all the volunteers, our communities that have been supportive to our course, SAPS, SANDF, men and women within the health sector and all other stakeholders that have shown their unsurpassed support to our Health Department.

As a Department, we continue to urge and encourage all employees within the health sector to report back on duty as soon as possible.

Our hospitals are operating under severe pressure and it is therefore not surprising that there might be institutions that deliver services at an unusually lower capacity as a result.

We continue to condemn acts of intimidation, theft, public violence and vandalism with the highest contempt they deserve. However, we also want to appeal to the labour fraternity to continue to assist in all endeavours to protect the lives of our people and our institutions.

We still continue to appeal to all those that can volunteer their time to come forward and assist in improving service delivery to our patients.

We further remind all patients with Chronic illness to feel free to come and access their Chronic Medication at any of our Health facilities. Where access is not granted or is somehow denied, patients are encouraged to immediately contact the following people:
