The Limpopo Department of Health and Social Development is pleased to inform you about the appointment of the new Head of Department (HOD) as of 1 June 2010. Dr Aggrey Mabuti Morake was born in Sharpville, matriculated at Orlando High School and studied Medicine in Romania. Upon returning to South Africa in 1993, he worked in Hillbrow Hospital and then Klerksdorp Hospital as a medical officer. He later joined Sebokeng Hospital as CEO in 2001 to 2007 and then the Department of Labour as Acting Chief Operating Officer until 2009. He obtained his Postgraduate in Health Management in 2003.
He was one of the pioneers of Vaal Independent Practitioners Association (VAIPA) and became its first CEO in 1997. He concurrently held a position of Director in the Vaal Branch of African Health Synergies and worked with Kaizer Permante in creating Sizwe Admin Co. He has attended national and international health care congresses. He also worked with various leaders in the private sector.
NB: MEC of Health and Social Development, Mme Miriam Sekgabutla, will be wishing all EMS staff, doctors, nurses and every health personnel who will be on duty during the World Cup, the best of luck. The MEC will encourage and hearten the department’s personnel to execute health services in the best possible way. The send off is scheduled as follows:
