MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mr. Willies Mchunu congratulates RTI for scooping four awards

MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mr. Willies Mchunu has congratulated the Road Traffic Inspectorate in Parkrynie for scooping four awards for being the best performing station in the country.

Over the years RTI Parkrynie has been leading in arresting road transgressors mainly on the N2 south of Durban. Moreover, Parkynie has earned its stripes of being known as the no nonsense stretch when it comes to transgressing motorists.

In the recent past many motorists have been arrested on the N2 for speeding, drinking and driving and driving unroadworthy vehicles.

The station won on the following categories of:

1. Going the extra mile
2. Most Innovative idea
3. Service Excellence
4. Traffic officer of the year 2013

Mchunu encouraged other stations to emulate and strive for excellence like Parkrynie station

“I would like to congratulate the excellence displayed by this station as they scooped four awards. I would like to encourage other stations to strive for such results. As we approach the festive season, I have no doubt it will improve the level of commitment and dedication among our officers. I appeal to all motorists to adhere to the rules of the road as we draw near to the festive season because all our officers will be out fully visible,” said Mchunu.
