MEC Tlhape confirms water restoration in Mothutlung

North West MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Manketsi Tlhape has today, visited Mothutlung in order to confirm the water restoration in the area, following a water crisis protest early this week.

MEC Tlhape met with the delegation of Madibeng local municipality before visiting families of the three protesters, Osiah Nkalane Rahube, Michael Stevens Tshele and Lerato Theodore Seema who were allegedly fatally shot during the protest.  MEC Tlhape was accompanied by Chief Whip and other Members of the Mayoral Committee of Madibeng.

MEC Tlhape also confirmed that the municipality together with North West Provincial Government will work hand in hand with the three bereaved families and has also provided basic necessities to assist with the burial arrangements. Meanwhile a memorial service will take place tomorrow, 17 January 2014 at Mothutlung community hall from 10 am and will be attend by amongst others, by the Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Supra Mahumapelo.

One of the deceased will be buried on Saturday and the other two will be buried on Sunday.
