KwaZulu-Natal for Education MEC Peggy Nkonyeni handed over school uniform to the needy learners
The MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal, Ms Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni, together with KwaXimba, Ward 1 Councilor, Mr Musa Mkhize, handed over 280 school uniforms that were donated by Assmang, to needy learners from 18 schools around KwaXimba Area, today, 20 January 2014.
The 18 schools that benefited from this gesture include Mvini Primary School, Ngidi Primary School, Luphaphe High School, Asizenzele Primary School, Nomfihlela Primary School and many others.
The MEC was very ecstatic about the donation from Assmang “I am happy that corporates like Assmang are heeding the call by our government that education is a societal responsibility. I also want to urge parents and community members to heed this call and contribute to the education of our children,” said the MEC.
