MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube on newly appointed Mooi-Mpofana Council

KZN COGTA MEC confident new council will ensure return to normality at Mooi Mpofana

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) has expressed confidence that the soon to be sworn in Mooi-Mpofana council will return this municipality to its former glory.

“In am confident that the by-elections mark the renewal of the Mooi Mpofana municipality with a new democratically elected council in charge and that this council will continue the provincial government’s efforts in restoring order to the municipality and the faith of communities in the municipality,” said KZN MEC for Cogta Nomusa Dube-Ncube whose department had paved the way for the bye-elections.

KZN Cogta will soon constitute a new council on the basis of the by-election results and meeting with the new councillors whom it will assist with various induction and capacity-building programmes to ensure that they discharge their duties in accordance with the law and to the satisfaction of the Mooi Mpofana communities.

“We will be giving the new councillors all the encouragement they need in ensuring that the groundwork for a better Mooi-Mpofana which was laid in the municipality by the provincial government’s intervention will be built on by the new municipal administration until the situation improves and the municipality returns to normality,” said Dube-Ncube.
