Ndalane pleads for public help following rape and murder in Madiba Park

The MEC responsible for Social Development, Ms Nandi Ndalane has issued an impassioned plea to members of the community to help with information which will lead to the arrest of assailants who unleashed terror on Friday through rape and murder in
Madiba Park outside Polokwane.

According to Police reports two women were attacked and one raped on their way back home from the local filling station on Friday night. Passersby stopped to help the victims, sadly one man was hacked and killed in the process. The MEC expressed outrage following this heinous crime and continued sexual assault of women. “It is unacceptable that our women continue to fall victim at the hands of men who indiscriminately target women and sexually assault them. I’m calling on our male counterparts to take a stand against any form of gender-based violence,” said Ndalane.

The MEC commended the men who stopped to help the victims though sadly one lost his life in the process. “I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to Sydney Maphela’s family and friends. He remains our hero who died protecting the life of our
women. Ndalane called on members of the community to help with information which will lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of the men who are behind this brutal crime.
