The Department of Local Government and Housing Limpopo, in conjunction with the Daily Sun and Capricorn fm will be launching a greening and cleaning campaign at the Capricorn fm Studio on 18 August 2010. The launch will be broadcasted live on the station’s Ashifa-Shabba Breakfast show from 6 to 9am.
The campaign aims at encouraging RDP beneficiaries to value their property by planting trees and vegetables, maintaining beautiful and clean yards. Through the campaign, we also hope to educate people about the importance of taking proper care of the environment and improving the image of their homes. This will also contribute positively in the fight against global warming and improving environmental conditions thus leading to a healthier and more productive population. RDP beneficiaries with the most beautiful gardens and cleanest yards will stand in line to win various prizes ranging from furniture to garden tools, courtesy of Daily Sun’s Sun Houses and Mr Fixit.
The launch will be attended by Capricorn fm CEO Mr Simphiwe Mdlalose, MEC for Local Government and housing Mr Soviet Lekganyane, Local Government and Housing HOD Mr Clifford Motsepe and Daily Sun’s editor, Mr Themba Khumalo and other top officials from the department.
