MEC Galaletsang Gaolaolwe hands over title deeds to beneficiaries of Boitekong and Vryburg communities

MEC for Local Government and Human Settlements in Bokone Bophirima, Galaletsang Gaolaolwe, has recently handed over title deeds to more than 3079 housing beneficiaries in Boitekong near Rustenburg and Vryburg, respectively.

Congratulating the beneficiaries, MEC Gaolaolwe re-emphasised government’s commitment of ensuring that there is housing, security and comfort for all. “We commit as the department to work with speed in the delivery of title deeds. This is a clear expression of our commitment to advance radical socio-economic transformation for the people of Bokone Bophirima to have legal ownership of property” said MEC Gaolaolwe. She advised communities to guard against vandalism and illegal occupation of houses.

89 -year-old pensioner Segametsi Baby Letebele of Ward 5 in Vryburg, Naledi local municipality was delighted and satisfied to finally be in possession of her title deed. She expressed gratitude to the Department for receiving her own deed since she is a pensioner and staying with her grandchildren and encouraged other residents to exercise patience like she did.

Another 74 year elderly: Mrs. Mjekula Mina of Extension 4 in Boitekong, could not withhold her excitement when she was given her title deed. “Today I am going to have a peaceful sleep with this deed on my hands, I feel proud because I have proof today that this house is mine and my children’s inheritance”, she said.
