Limpopo on re-opening of Vuwani Municipal Offices

Re-opening of the Vuwani Municipal Offices to provide services to the affected wards in Lim345 Municipality

On the 3rd of August 2017, the Executive Council took a resolution that the Provincial Government, the Vhembe District and the LIM345 Municipality should commence with the provision of services to the affected Wards in terms of Section 154 of the Constitution and Section 87 of the Municipal Structures Act.

Government has established a Process Plan to coordinate the provision of services in the affected wards in Vuwani. The key departments tasked with the responsibility of implementing the Process Plan are CoGHSTA, LEDET, Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure and Transport

The initiative to reopen the Vuwani Municipal Offices has begun. The departments mentioned in the Process Plan have nominated officials to form part of the Project Management Unit (PMU) which will co-ordinate the provision of services in the affected Wards in the area of Vuwani. The officials reported for duty at the Vuwani Municipal Offices today, the 07th September 2017 at 10h00.

The Limpopo Government has communicated with the Vhembe District to ensure that the Vuwani Municipal Offices, including the Vuwani Traffic Licencing Offices are open, habitable and conducive for work purposes.
The District Municipality has also delegated an official at senior management level to serve as the Interim Project Manager for the Project Management Team until such a time that a permanent Project Manager has been appointed.
