Limpopo Education celebrates Annual National Teaching Awards

Two more national teaching champions for Limpopo

The Limpopo Department of Education has done it again at the 18th Annual National Teaching Awards held this past weekend by DBE. The Province gave a good account of itself at the awards and returned home with two National Champions. Ms Mokhudu Machaba, from Ngwanamago Primary School was crowned the National Champion in the category for Excellence in Primary School Teaching. Mr Mdungaza Klaas Mahlahlani on the other hand is the National Champion in the category for Excellence in Primary School Leadership.

In congratulating these winners, the Limpopo Mec for Education, Ishmael Kgetjepe said: “This is what Limpopo is about and we appreciate immensely these educators for having represented us well. Teachers bear the weight and responsibility of teaching and are the main source of knowledge and skills for children. It shows that we are doing something right as a province that others can learn from. Investment in teacher education, professional development and support pays dividends”
