Invitation to participate in an Outward Selling and Investment Mission to Senegal

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) invites you to apply to participate in an Outward Selling and Investment Mission to Senegal from 13 to 17 January 2014. The objective of this mission is to increase trade and investment between South Africa and Senegal. It is an ideal platform for South African companies that would like to export value-added products and services and for companies looking for investment opportunities in Senegal.

The target sectors for this mission include:

  • Agro-processing
  • Chemicals (fertilizers and petroleum refining)
  • Infrastructure (rail, road, ports and telecoms)
  • Built environment professionals (consulting engineers, civil engineering contractors, quantity surveying and architects)
  • Energy (oil, gas and renewable energy)
  • Mining and capital equipment
  • Marine (ship construction and repair)
  • Electro-technical (electronics, electrical engineers, ICT and power)

Companies will be screened and selected in line with EMIA guidelines and market requirements, which are explained in the EMIA guidelines document.

For the approved companies, the dti will provide:

  • A subsistence allowance of R2 300 per day; and
  • An economy-class return airfare to a maximum of R17 000.

Companies that are not eligible for EMIA funding are welcome to participate in this mission at their own expense. The closing date for receipt of complete application forms is 15 November 2013.
