International Nurse’s Day celebrated in Mthatha

The Eastern Cape Department of Health in partnership with Denosa celebrated the International Nurse’s Day on the 15 May 2009 at the Mthatha town hall. This year’s theme was “Delivering Quality, Serving communities: Nurses leading care innovations.”

This day is celebrated annually around the world with the production and distribution of the International Nurse’s Day tool kit containing educational and public information materials for use by nurses everywhere.

The newly appointed MEC for Heath, Mr Phumulo Masualle when addressing the foot soldiers for the first time applauded the nurses for their good work and further pleaded with them to work hand in hand with the department to be able to deliver quality healthcare to the people.

“We all have a duty of improving health care in the Eastern Cape, and we can only achieve that if we work together,” he said.
