The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is investigating allegations of assault made by Mr Radovan Krejcir against members of the South African Police Service (SAPS).
It is alleged that on 22 November 2013 at about 18h00, the complainant was arrested for attempted murder and kidnapping at his home by a group of police officers. They took the complainant to a veld in the direction of Katlehong, where he was allegedly shocked with a Tazer and a plastic bag was placed over his head to suffocate him. The complainant allegedly lost consciousness.
The matter was reported to the IPID by the SAPS after a case docket of assault common was opened at Protea Glen SAPS and then transferred to Katlehong North SAPS. The IPID took over the docket on 24 November 2013.
The investigation continues. No arrests have been made.
