Minister’s daughter scores top job at police watchdog
The IPID has noted media reports regarding some appointments that were made recently. We want to reiterate that our processes are guided by fair and transparent public service prescripts. Where these were not followed, investigations take place and IPID management will corporate fully with such investigations. The IPID is committed to high standards and integrity in all its dealings.
IPID will not be in a position to respond to any further allegations regarding these matters; we will await an investigation to the matters and respond to the satisfaction of the relevant authorities. Our focus at this stage is to continue in providing an independent and impartial investigative service to The South African Society without any fear or favours.
Any other allegations outside criminal investigations of the SAPS and Metro Police should be addressed with recognised institutions of government that deals with misconducts alleged to be committed by public servants.
