The Department of Women, Children and People with disabilities has discovered that there is a fake page and an impersonation of Minister Xingwana on facebook soliciting funds from members of the public.
We therefore want to put it on record that Minister Xingwana does not have and has never had a facebook page. We are bringing this matter to the attention of the public to urge them to to be careful and not to give into demands of people who pose as Minister Xingwana electronically or otherwise soliciting assistance in kind or in monetory(funds) or disclose any valuable personal bank account details to these facebook personalities.
It has come to the attention of the department that the impersonator/s are requesting people for funds under pretence that they are donating, giving or depositing for a some good cause or initiative. We urge also members of the public to report these incidents to the Police in cases where they come across such scams.
