The Gauteng Department of Education in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Health is hosting an HIV and AIDS Expo aimed at encouraging the spirit of a caring community by reinforcing the Ubuntu values and the culture of reaching out to the affected and infected.
The three day expo which started on the 30 November 2009 will be held at Mary Fitzgerald in Newtown until the 2 December 2009. The Expo will be complimented by interesting interventions such as One Love Dialogue on Teen Pregnancy and HIV and AIDS, Big Brother and Big Sister Dialogue on multiple partners, Couple Dialogue on Voluntary Counselling and Testing and public testing.
Today, which is World AIDS Day, there will be cultural activities such as drama, poetry, arts and craft exhibition and traditional music. Tomorrow, the last day of the expo there will be a Siyaphila Music Concert featuring international and local musicians in gospel, jazz, hip-hop and kwaito artists will perform.
