Government remains committed to resolving wage impasse

Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Richard Baloyi has today reiterated that government remains committed to resolving the current wage impasse through further engagement with the leadership of the unions.

Receiving the memorandum of demands at the Union Buildings, Minister Baloyi indicated that the memorandum as received will be paid the full attention of government.

“As government, we are applying our minds to this matter and will respond to the demands as a matter of urgency” Minister Baloyi added. The Minister has also called on all striking public servants to return to work tomorrow following the one day action.

Whilst government acknowledges the right of all employees to strike, we call on all public servants to be responsible in their strike action in the knowledge that our citizens have an equal right to access government services.
