Minister Fikile Mbalula inspects progress on Vala Zonke programme in Limpopo, 10 Sept

The Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, will inspect the work done on fixing potholes in Limpopo province on Saturday, 10 September 2022. The Minister will be inspecting the work done on fixing potholes, as part of the labour-intensive Vala Zonke programme, on the D673 provincial road in Tzaneen, Limpopo Province at Nkowankowa.

The National Department of Transport has been hard at work intensifying interventions aimed at addressing challenges relating to road infrastructure with a comprehensive plan to address potholes across all spheres of government. The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is leading the labour-intensive Vala Zonke national project, in collaboration with provincial and local governments and roads authorities.

Vala Zonke is an integrated, rigorous and comprehensive plan that will drive interventions to ensure that the overall condition of roads is in a safe and driveable state.

Members of the media are invited to attend. The Minister of Transport and SANRAL will take media questions on site regarding the national Operation Vala Zonke programme to eradicate potholes and plans for implementation at provincial level.
