Electoral Commission and University of Venda host International Symposium on Judiciary and Elections, 25 to 26 May

Members of the media are invited to attend a two-day international symposium hosted by the Electoral Commission of South Africa in partnership with the University of Venda. The symposium will be held at the University of Venda Auditorium, in Thohoyandou, Limpopo Province, on 25 and 26 May 2023.

The symposium theme is The role of the Judiciary in Mediating Electoral Processes and Outcomes in Africa. National and international speakers, among whom are experts and practitioners from the fields of academia and electoral democracy, will share the stage to present findings from the latest research and exchange perspectives on the theme of the symposium.

The event will reflect on and provide deep insights into the role of the judiciary in mediating electoral processes and outcomes, and the implications for electoral democracy in Africa.
