Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Dr Ismail Vadi sends condolences to the Diepsloot taxi accident families

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Dr Ismail Vadi has expressed shock over the horrific taxi accident which claimed six lives and left nine others injured on the N14 highway near the R511 off-ramp on Wednesday morning.

One person was airlifted to Chris-Hani Baragwanath Hospital while several others were transported by ambulance after the minibus taxi they were travelling in overturned near Diepsloot in the West Rand.

MEC Vadi expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased during this time of grief and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We would like to once again urge drivers to always exercise caution on the roads.

“We are losing too many people on our roads and the carnage needs to stop. Drivers need to obey all rules of the road, especially during this time of the year. One death is one too many,” Vadi said.
