Gauteng Health on disruption of services at Helen Joseph and Rahima Moosa Hospitals

Water cut compel Helen Joseph and Rahima Moosa Hospitals to divert emergency cases

The Gauteng Department of Health wishes to inform the public about the diversion of emergency cases of Helen Joseph and Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospitals to neighbouring public health facilities.

This follows the ongoing water cuts around Westdene area since yesterday.

As a contingency plan, the facilities are currently using the limited water tanks to ensure that services are not interrupted.

Running water is paramount in infection control and surgical performance. To ensure that healthcare is not compromised, emergency cases have been diverted until this challenge is resolved.

It should be noted that other services at both facilities are taking place as per normal.
