Following allegations of corruption levelled against Lenasia South Hospital management, the Gauteng Department of Health has delegated the Johannesburg Health District with the responsibility of overseeing the appointment of employees at the facility.
This was revealed by the MEC for Health, Ms Qedani Mahlangu on Tuesday, 21 October 2015 in a Gauteng Legislature written reply. MEC Mahlangu also took the opportunity to reveal that the interview process for the thirty one (31) support employee positions that has been conducted already at the said facility will be redone in due course.
“We trust this will allay fears concerning the purported interference and maintain the integrity of the appointment process,” said MEC Mahlangu.
