The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation continues to build on the excitement of the 2010 FIFA World Cup by supporting the fly the flag and the Lead SA campaigns during the trination match between the Springboks and the All Blacks at FNB stadium this weekend.
“On behalf of the Gauteng Provincial Government, I would like to urge all Gauteng residents to go all out in full support of the Springboks to wear their green and gold on Fly the Flag Friday and fly your flags high. Gautengers let us all unite as one voice and shout GO! Bokke,” said MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Nelisiwe Moerane.
For those not going to the stadium, the department has made arrangements for a public viewing area in the West Rand at the old Bekkersdal Stadium next to the Bekkersdal Taxi Rank. Entertainment will include performances by 999 stable and local artists.
Flags will be distributed at the public viewing areas; however, residents are also urged to bring their own.
