The department has been alerted about the outbreak of the foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) at Gravelotte area on a private farm in Malati in Mopani District within the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality. No alarm should be raised as the provincial and national veterinarians of the Department are working around the clock to monitor and contain the situation.
Please note that the area where the outbreak has been noted has been isolated. Veterinarians are also working on tracing the source of the outbreak of the FMD in the area. All relevant stake holders will be updated regularly in this regard.
