The National Development Agency Board hereby invites nominations from individuals, organisations, institutions and civil society for suitable persons to be appointed as member’s provincial advisory board of the NYDA. The NYDA is a national public entity set up through Act No 58 of 2008. It was launched on 16 June 2009 by the President Jacob Zuma. Its mandate is to initiate, implement, facilitate and monitor youth development interventions aimed at reducing youth unemployment and promoting social cohesion.
In line with its mandate, the NYDA board has resolved to establish Provincial Advisory Boards of the NYDA in all nine provinces. The PAB will consist of seven members. These structures will act on an advisory capacity to the NYDA board (national) on matters pertaining to youth development.
- Provide advice to the NYDA board on provincial priority programmes, in respect of youth development
- Coordinate, monitor and oversee the implementation of NYDA board (national) decisions at provincial level
- Promote a uniform approach by all organs of state, private sector and non-governmental organisations on matters relating to or involving youth in the province
- Endeavour to promote the interest of the youth in all government interventions in the province
- Monitor and oversee the implementation of all youth interventions in the province
- Lobby and advocate for the involvement of youth in all initiatives in the province.
The nominee must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Comply with any other requirements prescribed by national legislation, in particular the National Youth Development Agency Act, 2008
- Possess suitable qualifications, expertise and experience in the area of the youth
- Nominations must contain the full name and address of the person/organisation making the nomination, a signed acceptance of the nomination and curriculum vitae providing the candidate’s:
- Full name, ID number and gender
- Contact address, telephone, fax numbers and e-mail address of previous experience, quoting dates and organisations concerned
- Academic qualifications.

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has extended the closing date for the nominations for PABs for the following provinces only:
- Gauteng
- North West
- Mpumalanga
- Free State
- KwaZulu-Natal
- Eastern Cape
- Western Cape.
Please note:
- Those who had applied before are not required to submit new applications
- No new applications for the Limpopo and Northern Cape Provinces will be considered functions and duties of provincial advisory boards:
