The Minister for Public Service and Administration Richard Baloyi as the employer in the Public Service Coordinating and Bargaining Council (PSCBC) has today met with the leadership of Cosatu and the Independent Labour Caucus in an effort to bring closure to the 2010/11 wage negotiations.
During his engagement with social partners earlier today, Minister Baloyi indicated that now is the time for all leaders to consider the employer’s final offer for settlement next week Thursday, 29 July 2010.
The revised position is regarded as the final political intervention given government’s priorities to service delivery programmes.
In view of the meeting with the leadership of the unions, it is now expected labour will engage with their constituencies on the employer’s final revised offer which will be tabled at the PSCBC where the employer will articulate the context in which this offer was made.
