The Department of Traditional Affairs would like to wish all a happy Muslim Eid-Al Ahda

Muslim worshipers around the world are gathering at mosques for dawn prayers to mark the beginning of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha this week .The Department of Traditional Affairs (DTA) wishes all a happy 2013 Eid al-Adha.

It is the mandate of the Department of Traditional Affairs to promote and protect the rights of all religious communities in our country to practice their faith and worship the Supreme Being without hindrance from the state or any other person.

The department encourages the recognition and affirmation of marginalized faiths and their organisations, the unity of the people of South Africa across faith divide as part of the nation building programme and social cohesion. We remain encouraged by the continuing cooperation and interfaith collaboration in our country, manifesting through the National Interfaith Council of South Africa (NICSA).

It is against this background that the department wishes the Muslim Community a blessed 2013 Eid al-Adha.

We wish all a blessed holiday!
