The Department of Communications today hosted a workshop with a range of public and private sector stakeholders to explore ways in which the country can address the short-term spectrum needs and long-term developmental goals.
The stakeholders included other government departments, State-Owned Companies, Industry Associations, the Independent Communications Authority of SA and other industry players.
“We have to ensure that we use spectrum, which is a limited natural resource, to ensure we are able to achieve our developmental goals as a country, while ensuring the overall safety of all citizens and facilitating a thriving private sector,” said Minister of Communications Yunus Carrim.
