Armed Forces Day Military camp tent village affected by torrential rains in Richards Bay

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) would like to announce that the Armed Forces Day 2023 (AFD23) military camp tent village located at Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RIBDZ) has been badly affected by torrential rains which commenced on 10th February until this morning on 12th February 2023. The AFD23 Joint Command cadre has taken a decision to temporarily relocate the affected members to local community halls in Richards Bay whilst Army engineers and civilian authorities are finding solution to deal with flooded military camp site.

SANDF is hosting the 2023 Armed Forces Day (AFD) in Richard’s Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, from 06 – 22 February 2023. The event comprises a series of planned activities culminating in the main parade on 21 February, wherein the Commander-In-Chief, Honourable President Cyril Ramaphosa, is expected to officiate.
