Confirmation of 'Kitchen Spoon Attack' of Derby Lewis and Walusz
The Department of Correctional Services can confirm that today - 26 February 2014 - offenders Clive Derby Lewis and Janus Walusz were attacked by one offender with a "kitchen table spoon" and suffered some lacerations in their heads and hands at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre. They were briefly treated internally (locally) and the attacker has been locked up. The South African Police Services and Correctional Officials are investigating the attack.
Further information will be availed on the incident following the conclusion of the investigation.
