2014 NSC Examinations get off the ground as learners sit for first exam, 27 October 2014
The first day of the 2014 National Senior Certificate Examinations got off to a good start this morning, Monday 27 October 2014, with no major incidents reported as learners sat and wrote their first English and Visual Arts papers in the morning and afternoon sessions respectively.
Learners across a marginal number of centres in the Western Cape had a delayed starts while one experienced the late arrival of learners due to a minor vehicle accident, none of the learners were hurt nor adversely affected in the examinations as they were compensated for the lost time.
Events in three KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) centres lead to late a start due to community unrest, but candidates were afforded the necessary time to complete their examinations.
Tomorrow, Tuesday 28 October will see a total of 128 779 Fulltime and 23 694 Part Time candidates sit to write Accounting in the first session and just over 256 000 full-time and 1400 part-time learners sit for IsiZulu, isiXhosa, SiSwati and isiNdebele.
