As part of the Women's Month celebrations, the Department of Local Government and Housing in conjunction with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) will lead high profile women, female celebrities, and Members of Parliament (MPs) in building homes for destitute families. These will be homes build by women for women.
The homes will be built at Ga-Hlahla Moletji on Thursday, 19 August 2010.
Women have assisted the department to build over 300 000 homes accommodating over 1.2 million people in Limpopo. MEC Soviet Lekganyane has pledged to continue to empower, train and involve women in construction.
The Department of Local Government and Housing has been voted the "best department" in Limpopo. We are building homes and communities!
