The Tshwane Metro Police will mount a major road safety operation on one of the country’s busiest road, the R101, as part of the Festive Season Law Enforcement Operation.
The operation will be held as under:
Date: Friday, 23 December 2011
Time: 10h30 till 15h00
Venue: R101 Road (both directions), next to the Babelegi Industrial Area, Hammanskraal.
Media is invited to be there at 10h30.
The Focus:
- Stop and search of vehicles
- Vehicle and driver fitness
- Drunken driving
- Provision of safety tips to the motorists
Participants:
Tshwane Metro Police joined by the South African Police Services (SAPS) and Gauteng Traffic Police.
The operation will be led by Steve Ngobeni, the Acting Chief of Police for Tshwane Metro Police
