As part of youth empowerment, about 14 grade 11 learners from Reikaletse Secondary School in Koffiefontein and Lekhulong School in Bloemfontein will take part in the Department of Free State Treasury's "Take a Child to Workplace" initiative on 23 July 2010.
This initiative seeks to inspire learners to be future leaders in both public and private sector. It also attempts to map a future career path for these learners.
Learners will be exposed to daily government functions, interact and share information. They will be deployed as follows:
- two learners in MEC's office
- two learners in the chief executive officer's office
- ten other learners will be placed in different chief directorates.
