Public Service and Administration budget vote media briefing

Minister for the Public Service and Administration (DPSA), Richard Baloyi hereby invites members of the media to a press briefing on occasion of his 2010 budget vote speech.

Key issues to be discussed at budget vote will include:

* Measures to ensure corruption is tackled effectively
* Leveraging information communication technology (ICT) as a strategic resource (enabler)
* Ensuring effective systems, structures and processes
* Ensuring service delivery quality and access
* Citizen engagement and Public Participation
* Effective employment entry into public service and human resource development
* Efficient human resources management policies, practices, norms and standards
* Provision of healthy, safe working environments for all public servants
* Providing appropriate governance structures and decision-making
* Contribution towards improved public service and administration in Africa and the international arena.

Present at the briefing will be Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration, Roy Padayachie and the Acting Director-General of the DPSA, Ms Colette Clark.

Also interacting with the media will be heads of the ministerial portfolio agencies:
* State Information Technology Agency (SITA)
* Public Administration and Leadership Academy (PALAMA)
* Public Service Commission (PSC)
* Public Sector Training Authority (PSETA)
* Centre for Public Service and Innovation (CPSI)
* Government Employees Medical Scheme (GEMS).
