Public lecture by Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Secretary-General

The Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Mr Angel Gurría, will be in South Africa for the release of the OECD’s economic survey of South Africa. As part of his visit, the Secretary General will also present a public lecture at WITS University on Tuesday, 20 July 2010. The Secretary General will discuss, amongst others, innovation as an important tool that could be better used in helping the world recover from the economic crisis and move towards a more sustainable growth path. The lecture will also highlight the need for a broader understanding of innovation, the link between innovation and green growth, and describe the main building blocks of the OECD Innovation Strategy.

The lecture will be hosted by the WITS School of Economic and Business Sciences.
