Provincial Integrity Leadership Conference, 27 to 28 October 2011

The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Government is serious about uprooting fraud and corruption in its Public Service. Premier Dr Zweli Mkhize is to host the Integrity Leadership Conference soon.

The aim is to strengthen the KZN Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Strategy by introducing new and innovative ways of fighting fraud and corruption as well as rekindling the centrality of good ethical behaviour and values in public discourse. This will culminate in the signing of a pledge by relevant stakeholders.

The focus of the conference will be in mainly three areas- these are:

  • Prevention measures
  • Detection methods
  • Sanction

The conference will bring together an array of participants that will include:

  • Political leadership
  • Experts in the field
  • Public servants
  • Civil society including labour and non-governmental organisations
  • Religious groups and
  • Other relevant stakeholders.

The two-day conference (27 to 28 October 2011) will be held at the Coastlands Umhlanga near Gateway in Durban.
