President of the Republic, Jacob Zuma and Gauteng Premier, Nomvula Mokonyane participate in Youth Day activities

President of the Republic, Jacob Zuma and Gauteng Premier, Nomvula Mokonyane will lead the National Youth Day commemoration in the province under the theme "Celebrating a Vibrant Youth Voice".

The event will also see the launch of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), a South African youth development agency resulting from the merger of the National Youth Commission and Umsobomvu Youth Fund.

The NYDA is aimed at creating and promoting co-ordination in youth development matters. The commemoration event will be preceded by a wreath laying ceremony in Soweto and a cultural programme in Katlehong.

Keynote Address and Cultural Programme
Time: 12h00 to 15h00
Venue: Huntersfield Stadium, Katlehong
