President Jacob Zuma sends two special envoys with gifts to Angola

President Jacob Zuma has sent Minister in the Presidency Mr Collins Chabane and the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Dr Zweli Mkhize to Angola on 9 to 10 July 2010, bearing gifts of Toyota Corollas to community organisations in that country.

The cars have been given to President Zuma by Toyota to donate to Angola to assist community organisations in their work. The cars are in appreciation of the work that the organisations perform in aid of social development in Angola. They are also being donated as a token of appreciation to the people of Angola for the strong and warm relations that have historically existed between the two countries.

President Zuma was meant to hand over the cars during his state visit to Angola last year but could not do so due to logistical reasons, hence the sending of the two Presidential envoys to perform the task.

The handing over ceremony will take place tomorrow, Friday, 9 July 2010 at the Social Centre Llumba outside Luanda and will be received by the Angolan Minister of Social Welfare, Joao Baptista Kussunua.
